It seems being nice and dare I say "boring" - as many people have - was enough to win, though by the smallest of margins over Mikey Hughes.

So what does she plan to blow the £100,000 winnings on? Fast cars, drugs and dangerous men? Well almost.

"I'll give £2,000 to five charities, I've also got a few debts to clear and I'd like to get a car," Rachel, 24, told the post-show press conference.

"One that can get round a roundabout and doesn't have moss growing in it."

Oh, and she wouldn't mind marrying her beau, Richard. "I'd get married to him tomorrow if he asked," she smiled. "He's a very nice person (they have something common then) and very kind."

Rachel took a lot of stick from some of the housemates about being boring - but she feels vindicated now.

"The fact they said it to my face did really affect me at the time but because I'm confident with who I am I didn't leave the house," she said.

"And the fact I lasted to the last five is a big boost." Asked to reveal something not boring about herself, she said: "I like grapes." One crazy lady.

Certainly not boring in the house was runner-up Mikey. "I'm actually glad that I didn't win and Rachel won," said the poncho-clad Scot, 33.

"She was always herself and deserves to win. She had lots of criticism but she certainly wasn't boring to me."

He obviously carries a torch for her. "Finding a girlfriend isn't a priority but should a Rachel-like apparition appear before me I would consider it."

One relationship forged in the house that could go either way was between Darnell Swallow and Sara Folino.

"Over the last week we became especially close," said the klaxon-voiced Aussie, 27. "We really need to chat to see what's happening."

But he wasn't impressed by her fancying Stuart first. "I'm not going to be the No. 2 guy," said Darnell, 26, who also admitted chronic sexual frustration.

Swaggering BB villain Rex Newmark proved evasive in the press conference.

But he did talk of his hopes for a TV cookery career and about girlfriend Nicole. "I love her more than anything in the world," the 24 year old said. "I haven't slept for the last five days just thinking about her."

Asked if a proposal was imminent, he said: "You could say that." But the night really belonged to Rachel Rice.
