The days are back

Hearing the news of a remake of Alien Breed made me almost jump for joy. I've got many great memories of that game, the best being when I first played it on Christmas Day on my brand new Amiga 1200. What a great day that was, as the next game was The Secret Of Monkey Island. Those were the days. WIGZ411

Get what you pay for

Great to see some really good games like Turtles In Time and Marvel Vs Capcom 2 coming up for Xbox Live Arcade, but 1200 Microsoft Points for both seems steep. Battlefield was the same price. Online is easy

RE: Rosie and casual gamers buying online. Her point was no different to that of the music industry some years ago scoffing at the idea of downloading music. Think about it, you have some friends around, if you decide to play a game you could then just go online, find something you want and play it instantly. Example: I really wanted an American football management sim, found one on the EA download store, was playing it in an hour... (won the Superbowl, hurrah!) Thedudeabidesman

The usual fiasco

I must say that so far I have "enjoyed" Battlefield 1943. Downloaded on Wednesday and have only been able to play the pointless tutorial so far, as I cannot join any games due to the poor capacity of the EA servers. What a fiasco - will not be doing it again in the future if they bring out anything similar. The Wrong One (gamertag)

16-bit bargain

I bought an amazing bargain from a charity shop - a SNES with Street Fighter II Turbo boxed with Super Mario All-Stars unboxed and Secret Of Evermore, Secret Of Mana, Illusion Of Time, Legend Of Zelda, Equinox, Super Star Wars, Syndicate, Starwing and Super Street Fighter II - all mint.

Those Queen songs are from their second album, along with several others that sound like role-playing game expansion packs: Nevermore, White Queen (As It Began), The Loser In The End, and my favourite, The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke, which was named after a very odd painting. A false sense of skill?

RE: Andy McBride. I'm the opposite. I was an average gamer in the 16-bit days but went through a Japanese role playing phase, post Final Fantasy VII and thought I was a great gamer.
